Pakistan cheerleaders have been introduced
Cricket in the subcontinent took a real fancy to cheerleaders with the advent of the Indian Cricket League and Indian Premier League, where foreign dancers gyrated to the tunes of Bollywood hits.

Pakistan’s Asif to face Indian doping tribunal in London
KARACHI (AFP) — Pakistan’s Mohammad Asif will face an Indian doping tribunal in London next month after the hearing was shifted to a neutral venue at the fast bowler’s request, his lawyer said Wednesday.
The 25-year-old tested positive for the banned steroid nandrolone during the Indian Premier League (IPL) competition held between April and June this year and has since been suspended from all cricket.
The tribunal will quiz Asif about the outcome of the test result and could ban him from all cricket for two years.
It comes after a first hearing held in October proved inconclusive and the next one set for November 29 had to be put off due to the terrorist attacks in Mumbai.
Since then the tribunal was unable to hold the inquiry in India due to strained relations between Pakistan and India. Read the rest of this entry
Asif apologises for repeated mistakes
Mohammad Asif, the Pakistan fast bowler, has apologised to the nation for his repeated misdemeanours. Asif, who was in tears during an interview to a TV channel, vowed to come back a reformed man.
“I have committed mistake after mistake and for that I apologise to the nation,” Asif said on the Geo Super channel. “I have disregarded the green Pakistan blazer but I promise that if I get the next chance I will be a totally changed player.”
